"When an idea comes to me I set it to simmer on the back burner of my mind and give it a stir from time to time. Eventually I feel compelled to pour it out onto paper or canvas. I work spontaneously then, from photographs, sketches, emotions, and poetry; allowing the wet pigments to mingle and push each other aside. The drips and puddles form what to me is something immediately luscious and sensual.
Art gives me a way to speak to the world; a safe place to reveal my soul. When I paint my heart opens to creation." |
